My brethren the Spirit our Lord with you
Outside our portal the savage Cromwell horde
Bow down I’ll not, I’ll die by their sworde

Aye I’m Cromwell, I am your lord and crown
Worthy as may be, on your knees bow down
We of the friary will not bow to the savage
Our souls are of God our bodies you’ll ravage

Our village you have ransacked, burned
Our men you have speared, our women raped
Our children you have hunted, slaughtered
Some you had horse-drawn and quartered

Off with their holy heads lord Cromwell scream
Let their blood flow forth in deathly stream
