Memories

Took a slow drive  to tietiesbaai today.
On my return, I took the back road way.
As I drove past the beach camp shack,
fond memories came flooding back.

Shells    on a string
the stoep's bling-bling.
The braai's       the fire
a site to admire
Raucous laughter,
night's silence thereafter.
The crescent moon
from an A frame room

a silent  reminder of  what friends are for
and thoughts of friends who are no more...

Still a very fresh memory:
The A-frame room
the very bright full moon
the ocean lapping at the water's edge
moonlight glittering in the bay
real world so far far away
stars so near, you could touch
I long for those times
so very much..
