Namibian nights

Namibian nights

Basaltic lava scorched brown and black
form the ridge of the mountains back

embedded in this blackened rock, a quiver tree
this lonely sentinal      an eternal vigil keeps

perched upon a rock in mountain high
I gaze upon the irredescent  night sky

like the quiver tree, alone I stand
and ponder the wonders of Gods hand

freshly sprinkled diamonds glitter bright
flooding the heavens in pearlescent light

I ask of me     wherefor cryeth thy so?
cryeth thy heart….cryeth thy soul

is it in awe of creation that I shed a tear
or be it just the loneliness that I fear

Ek het bietjie gewag voor ek kommentaar los op hierdie.
Hoekom?  Omdat ek nie woorde gehad het nie.
Vir my is Lewies se werk altyd spesiaal omdat ek hou van sy styl:  So bietjie uit vervloee se dae, so bietjie nostalgies.
A lonely figure on 'n rock touching the sky, touching my soul.
Pragtig.
