Autumn past

Shallow in my remembrance
a wildly blooming spring
the malachites and emeralds
of summers colourful fling
and as the season gently shifts
so too, the colours tone
ringing the changes, citrine to amber
bright red ruby to dreary brown stone

Autumn, sadly passed away this morn
upon giving birth to winters scorn
