In the subconscious labyrinth
Of my mind
Senses dulled into almost oblivion
Of sleep oh so deep, untroubled
The percussion of thunder
Gentle at first, subtly building
In intensity
Tucking at my aural senses
Only to jerk me into consciousness
With a blindingly brilliant lightning flash
Hitting the cymbal with deafening crescendo
Slowly subsiding thunder roll blending into
The windy chorus whispering through trees
Whining howling
As the first drops of rain falls upon the earth
Slowly building in intensity from sonorous basso
Into continuous tenor
Splashing onto earth, rock and leaf alike
The bass of drops falling on leafs, large
Keeping rhythm with the smaller drops
Falling splashing onto metal roofs in treble tenor
Softly slowly sussing me to sleep
Listening to the raindrop symphony
