‘Tis the season of spring in the vineyards
and blossoms unfold to bloom
stigmas receive the pollen they need
from bulk storage of the stamen
this simple act of exchange
brings a new life into being
through careful nourishment
cleansing and care
the juveniles rapidly expand
hiding in the vines
swaying in the breeze
to become the precious fruit
they were destined to be
the summer has now come
the adolescent reach ripe maturity
plump, juicy and full of life
filling their space on the vine
soon the harvest shall begin
each will become what is chosen
cooling winds now reach the vine
and know that autumn is here
the leafy crop like unto hair
will slowly change its colour
wilt and lose its steadfast grasp
softly falling to the ground
winter chills the stony soil
the vines begin to wither
grapes once smooth as satin
have lost the fluids they borrowed
shriveled skin all wrinkled up
yet all the flavours remain
though…
in the winter of their seasoned life
all wrinkled and fragile they seem
know…
there is still a wealth of life inside that wrinkled skin

You are one hellavu poet, Louis. And thank you for reminding me that under all those wrinkels, there's still plenty of life and love. :angel8:

:bootyshake:
